Just Dance surpasses 2m sales

Ubisoft’s Just Dance continues to stun the industry as the publisher announces that the game has sold more than two million copies worldwide.

The title is also now the fastest-selling new IP from any third-party publisher on the Wii, having reached this sales milestone in less than five months since it first hit shelves in mid-November.

The consumer response to Just Dance has been overwhelming,” said John Parkes, Ubisoft’s EMEA marketing director. With Just Dance’s success we’ve seen a renewal of the music video game genre, as this is truly a game that is accessible and enjoyable for everyone.”

Just Dance became the shock title to dethrone Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 as No.1 back in January. The game held onto the top spot for several weeks, and has been a mainstay in the Top 10 of the ELSPA GfK Chart-Track All Formats chart since it was knocked off the top by Mass Effect 2.

Ubisoft previously announced to MCV that Just Dance is the publisher’s fastest-selling title on the Wii.
