International Audio For Games conference heading to London

Broomhall to headline game audio summit

Game music director John Broomhall has been named as keynote speaker in an upcoming industry event focused on game audio business and craft.

Audio specialist Broomhall, a regular Develop contributor, will explore “the inextricable link between creativity and technology” during his speech at the International Audio For Games summit.

The event, now in its second year, runs from February 2nd to 4th, held at BAFTA headquarters in London.

Broomhall’s contributions to game audio can be found in games such as the original X-COM series and Heavenly Sword. He also chairs the BAFTA Audio Awards and sits on the BAFTA Videogames Committee.

Roger Furness, managing director of event organizer AES, said the “considerable technical advances driven and inspired by videogame production [keeps game audio] of paramount importance to our members.”
