Jay Cohen believes platform ubiquity makes it hard to pinpoint an audience

Bruckheimer exec: audience mobility a huge challenge

A huge challenge developers face today is keeping conneced to gamers with access to numerous mobile, internet and house-bound platforms.

That was the belief of Jay Cohen, a leading exec at Jerry Bruckheimer’s new game outfit.

Speaking to the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences, Cohen was asked what he thought was the biggest challenge facing the industry today.

“There are so many platforms available in the home, at the office, on your mobile device, on the web,” he responded, “that it’s becoming a huge challenge to stay connected with your audience and find them where they are when they are.”

Elsewhere in the profile interview, as published on Joystiq, Cohen said his favourite part of game development was “sitting around the table and seeing a spark of an idea ignite into creative wildfire that rallies the team to go the extra mile.”

Cohen is a member of the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences where he serves as chairman of its board directors. He joined Bruckheimer’s studio after a spell at Ubisoft.
