Brighton-based outlet comprises much of the team behind Mind Candy’s World of Warriors

Candy Labs heads form mobile studio Fracture Games

Mark Knowles-Lee and Rob Minson, the former heads of Mind Candy’s Candy Labs, have launched a new venture together.

Fracture Games will be focused on creating RPG titles for mobile, and is staffed by several of Knowles-Lee and Minson’s former co-workers, including many of those who worked on Candy Labs’ World of Warriors.

Candy Labs was closed late last year as part of a corporate restructure by Mind Candy.

Fracture will take over where that studio left off, running World of Warriors’ live services for the time being.

Like Candy Labs, Fracture is also based in Brighton.

"The mobile market at large is now a mature one with quick bucks for inexperienced teams a thing of the past,” Fracture told GI.

“We see this as a great opportunity to leverage our experience and lessons learned on the front line, to build on the world class tech and infrastructure that we have in place.

“With fantasy strategy clones having run their course, the core gaming market on mobile is ready for a new wave of titles with higher quality, innovative mechanics and fresh settings. Fracture wants to be at the centre of this nascent market.”
