New Generals title using Battlefield 3's Frostbite 2 engine

Command & Conquer dev renamed Bioware Victory

Command & Conquer: Generals 2 studio Victory Games has has become the latest studio to be put under the Bioware brand.

The latest title in the franchise and the studio rebranding to Bioware Victory was unveiled at this weekend’s Spike Video Game Awards.

The studio also announced it would be using the Battlefield 3 engine Frostbite 2 to power the in development PC game.

“We’re bringing BioWare’s vision for emotionally engaging gameplay and great attention to quality to the strategy genre and the Command & Conquer franchise,” said BioWare label GM Muzyka.

“I am excited to welcome BioWare Victory to our label. They are a great addition and the team is working hard to make sure Generals 2 truly immerses and engages players into this intense, gritty, modern war experience”

Victory Games is the latest studio to be put under the ‘BioWare’ umbrella by EA, with eight studios now operating under the brand, including Star Wars: The Old Republic dev Bioware Austin, BioWare Montreal and BioWare Ireland.

Command & Conquer: Generals 2 is due for release in 2013.
