The Last Hope for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift marks Croatian studio’s first step into VR development

Croteam is the next developer to enter virtual reality, with Serious Sam VR

Serious Sam creator Croteam is bringing its most iconic franchise to the world of virtual reality.

Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope is described as a ‘full-fledged VR title’ and serves as the Croatian developer’s first move into the nascent sector.

The Last Hope will support both HTC Vive and Oculus Rift on the PC, with the studio adding that it is in talks with Sony to bring it to PlayStation VR.

The game adapts the fast-paced first-person shooter gunplay of Serious Sam into a fixed wave-based mode.

Players will utilise a variety of weapons from the series and aim using the headsets’ accompanying motion controllers to hold out as long as they can.

There’s also a skill tree, power-ups and gear customisations and upgrades.

Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope is set for release on Steam Early Access later this summer.
