Crytek denies bankruptcy but reportedly misses payroll

Crysis and Cryengine maker Crytek has apparently been plagued with recent financial difficulties, as the company failed to make its most recent payroll at both its UK and Bulgarian offices.

Eurogamer reports on the missed paydays, which follows an original article from German outlet GameStar claiming the studio was flirting with bankruptcy.

The latter report cited a source from a large publisher stating “the vultures are circling,” adding that rival companies have already attempted to poach Crytek’s top talent as well.
