Legendary designer to contribute monthly opinion piece; plus Microsoft's Ben Board becomes fully-fledged commenter

David Braben joins Develop columnist team

Forgive us for being a little bit excited but, well, we are: Develop has expanded its team of industry commentators to include legendary designer David Braben, and Ben Board, Microsoft European Development Account Manager.

Braben, former recipient of the Development Legend title at the Develop Awards, will be contributing a monthly missive on technology, design, and the murky ground where they cross-over. Board, meanwhile, has previously been a contributor to Develop but has now been promoted to full columnist, and pens a monthly column of advice for Xbox and Games for Windows developers who want to get the most out of the platforms.

They join the established team of Games Investor Consulting’s Rick and Nick Gibson, business columnists; Develop founder and executive editor Owain Bennallack; and design columnist Billy Thomson, creative director of Crackdown 2 developer Ruffian Games.

Both columnists join from issue 102, out tomorrow, and David Braben’s piece will be available on our website tomorrow morning.
