Dead by Daylight developer Behaviour Interactive closes Santiago studio

Developer Behaviour Interactive, who developed mobile success Fallout Shelter and console horror title Dead By Daylight, has closed down its studio in Santiago, Chile, according to a statement given to website Gamasutra.

The developer, which has its headquarters in Montreal, Canada, has decided to focus its expansion efforts in that region. It is understood that the option to transfer from Chile to Canada was offered to all employees and that 30 staff have been laid off as a result of the closure.

"Behaviour’s vision for our current projects and future ambition requires important technological and creative innovations," said the statement that was given to Gamasutra from Behaviour Interactive’s communications manager.

"Our assessment shows the Montreal ecosystem, with its effervescence, its talent pool and training programs, is better suited to achieve our long-term goals. As such, after a long and thoughtful analysis, we have decided to shut down our Santiago studio."

Behaviour Interactive has been going for 25 years and in addition to its recently released titles, also worked on the online PC game, Warhammer 40,000 Eternal Crusade. It has also been working on work for hire projects with clients such as Starbreeze, Bethesda, Warner Bros and Bandai Namco.
