Develop 100 UK Studio Hot List goes live tomorrow

Our comprehensive guide to the UK’s top 100 developers goes live tomorrow.

The Develop 100 UK Studio Hot List will feature profiles on each of the top 100 studios, and why they deserve to be named among the cream of the crop in UK development.

A list of more than 500 British developers will also be included, offering information such as where they are based, the company website and the date founded.

You will be able to find out who we’ve chosen for this ‘games development who’s who’ by downloading the Develop digital magazine app and then adding the Develop 100 when it goes live. A browser edition will also be made available.

Readers and industry professionals are invited to our special launch event with Ukie, where Develop will present key findings from the book, and discuss what it takes to build a modern games studio in a special panel discussion with four of the studios on the list.

The event takes place 2.30pm to 3.30pm at Ukie’s new offices in central London (UKIE, 21-27 Lambs Conduit Street, London, WC1N 3BD) and is open to all – but spaces are limited. Please email Sam.Collins@ukie.org.uk to confirm your attendance.

As well as releasing the new Develop 100 free for a limited time, we have also made past editions completely free to download on iTunes and view through your browser.

Last year the influential guide gathered up votes from game journalists from around the world and had them vote for the best games of all time. In 2011, the Develop 100 looked at the top 100 studios from around the globe based on revenue generated in the UK, as provided by GfK Chart-Track. Each listing included detailed information on game sales as well as a profile of each studio charting its history and reasons for success.

You can read our breakdown of the history of the Develop 100, and how it charts the evolution of the game industry over the past eight years, here.
