Winner to receive six-month free membership at trade body and profile in Develop magazine

Develop and UKIE to name UK game of the show at Gamescom

UKIE and Develop will award a UK developer with the game of the show prize at next month’s Gamescom in Cologne.

Supported by UK Trade and Investment, the accolade will be given to the game that best reflects skill and unique creative talent.

For a game to be considered for the award, the developer must be based in the UK, and the title must not yet have been released to the public.

Entries will judged by representatives from Fat Pebble, UKIE and Develop throughout the event. The winning will be announced during a drinks reception on the penultimate day of the expo, and the title’s developer will receive a six-month free membership at UKIE.

A press release for the game by the trade body will also be provided. The game and company will also be profiled by Develop in print.

“There’s so much exciting new talent in the UK games industry at the moment making truly innovative games”, said UKIE CEO Jo Twist.

“We believe that new developers deserve support and recognition, especially abroad. The UKIE UK Game of the Show award was conceived to do just that – celebrate the accomplishments of this next generation of developers in an international Expo setting and so put them in the international spotlight."

Gamescom will take place next month in Cologne from August 21st to the 25th.
