UK studio receives award for New IP – Mobile with Plunder Pirates

Develop Awards 2015: Midoki triumphs in new mobile prize

Midoki has won the first Develop Award for new mobile IP.

The developer of Plunder Pirates fended off stiff competition from Supercell, Square Enix, Seriously, Mind Candy and new studio winner Starship.

The studio thanked Rovio Stars, which published the game, and their chairman Ian Livingstone, who has supported the developer since it was founded.

New IP – Mobile was a new category added to the 2015 roster of awards, reflecting the variety of fresh franchises coming to smart devices.
