Studio says award rounds out a year of achievement and new launches

DEVELOP AWARDS: CCP named top Independent Studio

Icelandic developer CCP was named Independent Studio at last night’s Develop Awards.

The creator of EVE Online and the upcoming DUST 514 beat out the likes of Rovio Entertainment, Bossa, Blitz and Crytek to win – a fitting triumph as EVE enters its tenth year on the market.

Hilmar Veigar Pétursson, CEO of CCP Games, issued a statement after the win:

“On behalf of the team at CCP, we’d like to thank Develop and our industry peers for the recognition, it means a lot to us.

"Over the past year, we’ve sharpened our focus, and with a lot of hard work, determination and commitment, brought EVE Online to new heights while preparing for the release of DUST 514.

"We have a lot to look forward to, including the launch of DUST 514, the 10th anniversary of EVE Online, and sharing more about World of Darkness at our September fan event in Atlanta."
