Ex-Vanguard designer Sander van der Vegte heading up division

Digital agency MediaMonks opens US game studio

Digital agency MediaMonks has opened a new games division in the US.

The studio will be led by head of games Sander van der Vegte, who has previously worked as creative director at Green Hill and senior game designer at Vanguard Entertainment Group.

The firm, which has offered services to companies such as Adidas and Coca-Cola, said it was launching the new division for US clients after seeing a raft of opportunities in the region.

MediaMonks has previously provided games services since 2006 from its HQ in Amsterdam.

"Very few companies can match both the scope and craftsmanship of our operation," said Van der Vegte.

"Moreover, we understand how to create games that are not an end in itself but a means to support a brand or campaign. Our extensive experience in digital advertising is a unique asset and we’re coming to GDC to prove that.”
