DNA Games strikes $2m investment

San Francisco-based social game studio DNA Games is preparing to burst onto the scene after raising some $2 million in VC funds.

The startup studio has made little noise since it was founded back in 2009, formed by three former executives from the nearby search engine management firm Bazaar. A holding page has been erected on DNA’s website, yet no official announcement of the group’s formation was made.

Its most recent $2 million cash injection follows another $1 million investment round sought late last year, according to SEC documents cited by news site Paid Content.

DNA Games has recently been on the hunt for a senior Flash developer, with the group stating that its mission is to “deliver the most captive, viral, social and profitable games that connect people via rich social experiences online.”

The group said it seeks to do this “via superior game design and taking a quantitative approach to user engagement, play testing and user acquisition.”

DNA Games says it’s already a well-funded operation, “led by serial entrepreneurs and game designers of epic hits in the video game industry."
