Yuji Horii to discuss series' place as a 'national treasure'

Dragon Quest team to keynote CEDEC 09

The keynote speakers for this year’s CEDEC development conference have been announced.

Keynoting the first day is Tokyo University professor emeritus Hiroshi Harajima, who’ll present a talk entitled ‘Where does IT go from here?’, which will examine how games are shaping the future of the IT space.

The second day’s keynote, "If We Stay Still, We’ll Die", will be presented by anime industry legend Yoshiyuki Tomino, who created the massive Gundam series.

Starting off the final day of the conference, Dragon Quest creator Yuji Horii will join DQ9 producer Ryutaro Ichimura and designer Hitoshi Fujisawa for a panel discussion on the concept of creating ‘national treasure’ games, in particular Dragon Quest.

CEDEC 2009 takes place from September 1st to 3rd in Yokohama, Japan. More information can be found at the event website.
