Brawler from the original Xbox brawler coming to next-gen

E3 2014: Microsoft Studios reviving Phantom Dust

Cult hit Phantom Dust will make a comeback with a brand new outing on Xbox One.

The remake was announced by Microsoft Studios’ creative director Ken Lobb during tonight’s Xbox E3 press conference. No gameplay footage was shown – just a rather flashy trailer in which two characters battled with magic powers in a city centre.

Lobb said the game would be handled by the team behind the Killer Instinct reboot that launched for Xbox One last year. Presumably he means whichever members of Microsoft Studios worked on the game, since the Killer Instinct developer Double Helix was purchased by Amazon earlier this year.

Phantom Dust was originally released on the first Xbox.
