This year’s entry also introduces streaming service, Just Dance Unlimited

E3 2015: Just Dance 2016 adds smartphone control to console versions

The newest version of Just Dance will allow console owners who have no camera or other motion-sensing devices to use their smartphone as a controller.

The game no doubt uses tech from Just Dance Now, a mobile version of the hit franchise – apparently the biggest music video game series of all time, according to Ubisoft – that was released last year.

Just Dance 2016 was introduced by executive producer Jason Altman, who said the game will be released for all platforms – including Wii, Xbox 360 and PS3 – this October.

The newer platforms – Xbox One, PS4 and Wii U – will be given an additional feature: a new streaming service named Just Dance Unlimited. Subscribers to this ‘dance on demand’ platform will receive regular updates and new content.
