Prequel running on publisher's Frostbite engine

E3 2015: Mirror’s Edge Catalyst goes open-world

Mirror’s Edge Catalyst will take place in a completely open-world, EA has revealed.

The prequel to the original title is built on the publisher’s Frostbite engine, much like its other titles including Star Wars Battlefront and Mass Effect Andromeda.

According to senior producer Sara Jansson, the game will not be split into levels but will be completely free-roaming and will feature zero loading screens. The game will also not include any weapons for the player, instead they must rely on lead character Faith’s free-running and melee skills in combat.

Mirror’s Edge Catalyst will be released on PS4, Xbox One and PC on February 23rd, 2016.
