Pogo Austin to join Bioware's Texan outfit; to focus on family-friendly Hasbro properties

EA opens new Austin casual studio

EA has opened another studio in Austin, Texas – this time dedicated to casual games.

Named Pogo Austin, the team is the third studio in the Pogo family alongside offices in Redwood City, California and Shanghai. It’ll be located in the Austin studio of fellow EA stablemates Bioware, and will focus on creating games based on Hasbro properties. The team currently stands at 12 people, including veterans from LucasArts, Acclaim, Amaze and Origin.

"We are thrilled to open a studio in Austin as there is such an enthusiastic and knowledgeable game development community," said Andrew Pedersen, Pogo general manager.

"It’s great to be a part of that spirit and I feel privileged to be working with a team full of game makers who bring such tremendous talent and experience to the Pogo team."
