Artificial Technologyâ??s new release to bring in-game characters to life

EKI One middleware launched across Europe

German developer Artificial Technology has released version 1.0 of its EKI One middleware, which promises to provide groundbreaking emotional and artificial intelligence.

The modular middleware is designed to make the inhabitants of virtual worlds more intelligent, emotional and vivid, with the aim of adding depth to games developed using EKI One.

Serein Pfeiffer, technical director and co-founder of Artificial Technology, said: "With EKI One, we proudly present a software solution that allows game and level designers, script designers and programmers to define character behaviour efficiently and with ease from cognition and movement characteristics to intelligent decision-making.”

Artificial Technology, which is offering free trial versions of EKI One for evaluation, has created the new middleware to integrate seamlessly into existing software environments, and used developer partner input in the creation of its latest solution.
