Epic Games awarded â??private company of the yearâ??

Epic Games was this week honoured as a leading company in the state of North Carolina.

At the annual NCTA Awards bash this week, Epic took home the sought-after ‘Private Company of the Year’ award, during a night in which 21 companies and individuals were honoured across a range of categories.

Epic president Mike Capps said his team were “honoured to be recognized by NCTA as a market leader in technology initiatives and performance, particularly in today’s challenging economy.”

He added: “Every company recognized by the NCTA 21 Awards last night had a compelling story, and I’m humbled that our game company was among their prestigious ranks. I have to thank my teams for their dedication and hard work. Without them, Epic would not be the company it is today.”

The North Carolina Technology Association also awarded its ‘Corporate Citizenship Company Award’ to Google, while Elster Solutions CEO Mark Munday was named ‘Technology Executive of the Year’.
