Social network's Preferred Developer Consultant program bolstered by addition of 13 internationally-based companies

Facebook expands developer offering

Facebook has expanded its Preferred Developer Consultant programme, accrediting an additional 13 internationally-based companies into the scheme.

The new PDCs include UK companies such as social gaming specialist Mediatonic and monitoring and management outfit Conversocial.

The Facebook PDC programme was conceived to connect people and companies to the resources they need to build with Facebook products and technologies. The companies accredited as consultants in the scheme are, according to a statement to the press ‘well-versed in building Facebook integrations and offer solutions ranging from store fronts, competitions, polls and campaigns to deeply integrated social experiences.’

"I believe Facebook is a fantastic platform for gaming online as people can connect and interact directly with their friends," said Paul Croft, director of games at Mediatonic. "We’re thrilled to have been selected for the PDC program and are very excited to be launching several original games over the next few months."

The social networking giant has additionally revamped its Preferred Developer Lookup Tool; a device to allow Facebook developers to access the details of PDCs by expertise, location, or any keyword.
