Perhaps the biggest release of the year so far finally arrives on shelves today. Rockstar Games’ L.A. Noire tasks players with rising through the ranks of the Los Angeles Police Department as they solve cases set in an authentically recreated 1940s L.A.

Today also sees the arrival of the first wave in Nintendo’s new Selects range. These value-priced re-releases include some of the best-selling titles on Wii, such as Wii Sports, WarioWare: Smooth Moves, Mario Strikes Charged Football and Animal Crossing: Let’s Go To The City.

And retailers won’t even have to wait for next Friday to get their hands on more hot new releases. Codemasters’ Dirt 3 lands on the High Street on Tuesday, My 24th, offering the most authentic rally experience to date.

Also out today is Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Reverie (Nintendo) and the PC version of Fable III (Microsoft). Click here for the full release schedule.
