Motion capture specialist moves to the UK for new role

Former EA man joins Vicon

Doug Griffin has joined Oxford-based Vicon as director of product marketing.

Griffin brings his expertise from EA and Industrial Light and Magic to the company, which specialises in motion capture and image understanding systems.

Vicon CEO and president Douglas Reinke said: “Doug comes to us with a broad range of motion capture experience in film and gaming as well as life sciences. He will head up our talented Vicon product management team and drive new products through market research, competitive analysis, and customer requirements.”

“Vicon is ahead of the curve, particularly when it comes to new product development and innovation. It is an exciting time for motion capture, and Vicon’s past success makes it a great company to work for. I look forward to building on that success, and making 2009 a record breaking year," added Griffin.

Having previously worked with Industrial Light and Magic on the likes of Star Wars: Episode III, Terminator III and Pirates of the Caribbean, Griffin then moved to EA, where he managed a team of software engineers.
