GDC 09: New studio LightBox Interactive on multi-year, multi-title PlayStation contract

Former Incognito director goes solo, signs Sony dev deal

Sony has moved to retain key development partnerships at GDC by signing a new deal with LightBox Interactive, an independent founded by former Incognito Entertainment studio director Dylan Jobe.

Jobe is best known for his work on the games Warhawk, War of the Monsters and Twisted Metal: Black.

The agreement with SCEA is a multi-year, multi-title deal to create exclusive software titles for the PlayStation.

"We are extremely pleased to be working with Dylan and his team in their new endeavor at LightBox Interactive," said John Hight, director of internal development, SCEA.

"Through pioneering many online and community features on PlayStation Network with the multiplayer game Warhawk, this team is established as leaders in the online category. I look forward to seeing what kind of further innovations they bring to the PlayStation platforms through this new development deal."

Jobe added: "We’ve forged a fantastic relationship with SCEA over the past nine years and with the formation of LightBox Interactive, our partnership will continue to grow, fueling the development of great games for players around the globe."
