Former Lionhead director Stuart Whyte joins Sony London

Former Lionhead studio director, Stuart Whyte, has joined Sony Interactive Entertainment’s London studio.

Whyte, who confirmed his appointment in a LinkedIn update reported by Gamasutra, will be heading up the VR studio. Sony London’s last VR game was PlayStation VR Worlds which was a launch title for the PlayStation VR peripheral.

Following the closure of Liohead Studios by Microsoft, Whyte had founded Wildebeetle. He previously held several positions at Lionhead and its predecessor Bullfrog. Whyte also spend time at Supermassive Games.

Sony London are currently hiring for more VR projects and Whyte’s own tag line is currently "Building the World’s leading AAA VR Team’. Here’s hoping we’ll see the fruits of their work soon.
