LucasArts has added yet another UK-developed game to its roster, inking the deal for an unnamed project from Free Radical Design.

Free Rad is Lucas’ latest signing

The developer of TimeSplitters, Second Sight and upcoming Ubisoft shooter Haze will make the new next-gen game for the George Lucas-owned publisher-developer. Details on the Free Radical site say it will feature "unprecendted next-gen gameplay", althought details are still to come.

It’s just another UK games signing for Lucas, which at E3 confirmed that it will be publishing Kuju’s PSP game Traxion and Frontier’s Thrillville (in the US only) as well as Traveller’s Tales’ next Lego Star Wars instalment. It’s also invested heavily in NaturalMotion’s euphoria animation engine to help bulk up next year’s Indiana Jones title.

"Free Radical has always been about titles with great gameplay and innovative design," said Peter Hirschmann, Vice President of Product Development at LucasArts. "In the battle for videogame quality, these guys are at the front of the line. This team’s pedigree is one of the best in the business."

"In recent years, LucasArts has established itself as one of the hottest publishers on the planet," commented Steve Ellis, Director at Free Radical, "We’re honored that they’re every bit as interested to be working with us as we are to be working with them."
