Braben says the ambitious action title is still going strong

Frontier committed to The Outsider project

Longstanding UK studio Frontier Developments is still working on The Outsider project, the group’s founder has confirmed.

Industry veteran and Develop Columnist David Braben told Eurogamer that the project was still "going very well”.

Said Braben: “I think Outsider more than stands up to them, and I still think Outsider will be one of the first ‘next-gen’ games around.”

The Outsider project was first revealed back in 2005, though details on the project have since been scarce.

In December Braben revealed that the Cambridge-based outfit was working on four individual projects: “The Outsider, and two big and one small unannounced project.”

The Elite co-creator previously said that his studio would start working on Elite 4 – as a space MMORPG game – as soon as The Outsider is turns gold.
