DICE's Battlefield development platform coming to 'all major mobile platforms'

Frosbite engine powers up on mobile

EA DICE is working on bringing its powerful Frostbite engine to mobile.

The development platform is known for powering FPS titles such as the Battlefield and Medal of Honor franchises, as well as Need for Speed: The Run.

The project, first revealed last October, has been named as Frostbite Go.

"One of our most exciting current projects is called Frostbite Go, a mobile division empowering EA game developers with Frostbite’s proven excellent workflows and features to bring true Frostbite experiences to all major mobile platforms," reads the Frostbite website.

The next version of the engine, Frostbite 3, will first appear in the upcoming Battlefield 4, set to appear on next-gen platforms.
