Medal of Honor: Warfighter due in October

Frostbite tech for next Medal of Honor

Danger Close studios will release Medal of Honor: Warfighter this October, which will be powered by the Frostbite 2.0 engine.

The engine is owned by DICE, and was used to develop Battlefield 3, which launched last year.

The last Medal of Honor was partially developed by DICE, who used Frostbite 1.5 to create the multiplayer side of the game, but the new game will be developed entirely in-house by Danger Close.

Reported by Game Informer, citing Official Xbox Magazine, the announcement details the game as a follow-up to the 2010 Medal of Honor: Tier 1, and again follows a group of elite special operations soldiers.

EA plans to reveal more of the game next month at GDC in San Francisco.
