Jetpack Joyride downloaded more than 350,000 times in a week

Fruit Ninja sales outpaced by new Halfbrick game

The studio that broke onto the scene with iOS sensation Fruit ninja is enjoying an even better start with its new game.

Australian group Halfbrick has revealed that, Jetpack Joyride, its new iPhone and iPad title, has been downloaded more than 350,000 times in its first week.

Fruit Ninja, which launched in April last year and became one of the iPhone’s best-selling games, managed to sell around 200,000 copies in its first month – a figure which Jetpack Joyride has nearly toppled in a single week.

"We knew we had a great game with Jetpack Joyride, and we’re glad 350,000 people agree," said Halfbrick marketing boss Phil Larsen.

But in some regions Fruit Ninja is still outselling Halfbrick’s new title.

In the UK, Jetpack Joyride currently sits at eighth in the UK App Store charts, one place behind Fruit Ninja.
