Engine vendor Emergent is licensing the Gamebryo LightSpeed platform to Shanghai-based MMO group Goldcool, the group has announced.
The highly integrable engine – used to power games such as Fallout 3 – will be the basis for Goldcool for the development of the upcoming MMO title Magic World Online II.
Emergent says that the deal is a mark of the Gamebryo engine’s versatility, allowing developers to create “single-player, online and multi-player games in any genre” for PS3, Xbox 360, Wii and PC.
Today, over 300 games and their ports have been built using the Gamebryo platform.
