Six Capcom-developed titles landing on mobile phones next year

Gameloft strikes Capcom mobile deal

Capcom’s mobile development arm has struck a deal with Gameloft to publish six games across various mobile devices.

The Capcom-developed mobile titles include Resident Evil: Uprising, Street Fighter Alpha, Lost Planet 2, and Dead Rising 2.

Each title, set for release in 2010, will take the familiar Capcom franchises to mobile devices via Gameloft’s distribution channels.

However, Gameloft did not mention the platforms that the games would be arriving on.

The mobile publisher and developer has in recent times made confusing comments on its commitment to Google’s Android platform.

The group’s CFO initially implied there was no reason for Gameloft to continue delivering its games on the Android OS, before the company released a statement declaring its devotion to the platform.

Develop has contacted Gameloft on the matter of the Capcom deal.

Capcom’s six new titles will land in Europe, West Asia, and Africa, and marks the first partnership between the two companies.
