Hardware begins shipping to Kickstarter backers from today

GDC 13: Ouya launch dated for June 4th in UK and US

Tiny Android console Ouya will hit retail stores on June 4th, the company has announced.

The hardware, which will sell for £99.99 ($99.99), will be available first in the UK, US and Canada.

The console’s Kickstarter backers are expected to have started receiving the system from today.

Ouya can be pre-ordered from its official website for $99.99. For that price, users get the console, one wireless Bluetooth controller, a power adopter (region specific), two AA batteries and a HDMI cable. Additional controllers can be purchased for $49.99.

The hardware will be available from stores such as GAME, Amazon, Gamestop and Best Buy.
