2009 event promises stronger focus on connected games

GDC Austin expands advisory board

The organisers of the 7th annual GDC Austin conference have confirmed six new members of the event’s advisory board.

Thomas Bidaux of ICO Partners will be joined by Min Kim of Maple Story publisher Nexon. The other four members of the advisory board are John Blakely of Sony Online Entertainment, Eugene Evans of EA/Mythic Entertainment, Mike Goslin of Hangout Industries, and Sheri Graner Ray of Schell Games.

“With an updated advisory board, attendees can expect the same quality of technical sessions presented in previous years but also specialised focus in areas like globalisation and localisation, micro transactions, security, and social networking success in games,” said GDC Austin event director Izora de Lillard.

Now in its seventh year, GDC Austin, which takes place from at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas from September 15th to 18th, offers three days that promise to focus on connected games including online games, virtual worlds, and social networking.
