GDC to host first ever ‘Play showcase’ for all devs

Next week’s Game Developers Conference is to reserve a third exhibition hall that allows all developers – from mobile to indie to social – to demonstrate their work to the industry.

The inaugural GDC Play expo is said will feature experimental game projects along with established indie teams and groups offering contract development help.

Simon Carless, the executive vice president of event organiser UBM TechWeb, said GDC Play is “effectively a third hall”.

“So we have the career pavilion in one hall, the main hall in another area and GDC play in the third, which covers a lot of emerging market developers.”
