Website to offer insights and discussions on technical challenges to 'stimulate new innovations'

GDC: Ubisoft powers up dev blog The Engine Room

Ubisoft has launched its own technology blog for staff at the French publisher to share their development knowledge to the world.

The platform will enable programmers, artists, game designers, developers and other staff to engage with readers in “collaborative discussions” related specifically to “technological innovation” in the games industry.

In a statement on the blog, Ubisoft said that it is hoping that by sharing its knowledge, best practices and ideas, it can “serve to nourish insightful conversation within the technology community and perhaps stimulate new innovations”.

Any user has permission to enter discussions and comment on the blog, although they must register to do so. Users can also write their own posts to send to the site’s editorial committee.

The first blog’s first two topics cover voice management and gathering statistical data for analysis of game usage.

The Engine Room website can be found here.
