The movement of Electronic Arts Warrington staff to local studios continues, with former EA NW technical director Fred Gill moving over to Birmingham-based Swordfish.

Gill finds place at Swordfish

UK industry veteran Gill co-founded game developer Attention To Detail in 1988, which went on to become part of the now closed Kaboom network of studios, which included Silicon Dreams and Pivotal0.

In 2003, Gill co-founded Gusto Games, taking on the role of MD, before moving over to EA in September 2004 as a technical director, working on a number of projects for the studio until its closure earlier this year.

At Swordfish, Gill takes the role of chief technical officer.

"Hiring Fred was a no-brainer and we are flattered that he agreed to come on board,” commented Swordfish Studio’s MD, Trevor Williams.

“The primary reason we hired Fred is simple – if you set your stall out to create games of the highest quality – as we have done at Swordfish, you need staff of the highest quality."
