Digital retailer brings 90 per cent of its catalogue to new OS

GOG.com now supports Windows 8

Good news for developers looking to bring their backlog of titles to Windows 8, as GOG.com now officially supports Microsoft’s latest OS.

GOG.com is known for offering an array of vintage games at low cost to consumers, giving studios a chance to make a dime off past hits.

Over 430 titles have been tested and fixed for Windows 8, which accounts for about 90 percent of GOG’s library.

A confusing note to this is that Windows 7 support has only been added to "a few" of these titles, while Microsoft has emphasized the cross-compatibility between the two systems.

GOG.com will continue to add more games to its list of supported Windows 8 titles as time permits.
