Developer believes Merged could surpass the success of previous hit 1010

Gram Games’ latest hits 1m downloads in first week

Turkish studio Gram Games has a second big hit on its hands as its most recent release passes 1m downloads within its first week on sale.

Merged is a puzzle game in which players must match dice in order to merge them and eventually clear the board. It’s a similar easy-to-learn, hard-to-master formula to that of Gram Games’ first release 1010.

“We’re really pleased that Merged is doing so well, with one million downloads in under a week,” said CEO Mehmet Ecevit in a statement, reports VentureBeat. “We are very confident in Merged and that it will surpass 1010 in terms of downloads.”

That would quite the achievement, given that 1010 has so far racked up more than 50 million downloads from around the world, but it’s still encouraging to see mobile studios achieving this level of success in an increasingly competitive market.

Gram Games was formed in 2012 and has already raised more than $1.1m from various backers, funding rounds and venture capital investors. It is currently seeking more funds.
