GTAIV expected to sell 9m units

Following Take Two’s financial results

, leading games analyst Michael Pachter has said he is unimpressed with the results, though he does expect GTAIV to be an overwhelming success.

We are relatively unimpressed with Take Two’s lineup for the next financial year with the glaring exception of GTA IV,” the Wedbush Morgan analyst started.

We expect the game to sell nine million units and generate $135 million in operating profit, or 103 per cent of the operating profit Take Two would earn at the high end of management guidance.

Stated simply, the rest of the company’s business is expected to be below breakeven in the most optimistic case, suggesting that its turnaround is far from complete.”
