Former Yager employee Bernd Diemer now working on Horizon: Zero Dawn

Guerilla Games hires Dead Island 2 director

Dead Island 2 director Bernd Diemer has joined the team at Killzone dev Guerrilla Games.

He leaves his position at Yager Development to work on the Sony-owned studio’s new sci-fi IP Horizon: Zero Dawn. It is not yet clear what his role on the project will be, according to GameSpot.

Yager was previously working on Dead Island 2, the sequel to Techland’s popular zombie action title, but was dropped by publisher Deep Silver back in July. The loss of the project contributed to Yager Productions GmbH, a division of the company, filing for insolvency a week later.

Dead Island 2 is still in development, though it is not known which studio has taken the reigns.

Meanwhile, work on Horizon: Zero Dawn continues following its well-received E3 debut earlier this year. The title sees players in a post-civilisation world hunting robot dinosaurs.
