Havok appoints new MD

David Coghlan has been appointed as the new MD of Irish middleware devs Havok, to be effective from current MD David O’Meara’s scheduled departure this June.

Coghlan has worked at Havok for six years, is an executive member of the firm’s board of directors along with O’Meara, and currently oversees Havok’s international commercial operations.

“David Coghlan has been a key contributor to the success and growth of Havok for the past six years as a senior manager and as a member of the Board,” said Havok Chairman Renee James.

“Intel is committed to maintaining Havok’s status as an independent subsidiary, because it is clear that this structure gives the company the financial and operating independence to continue to innovate and be successful in the games industry. We are excited to see Havok continue to develop and grow through David’s leadership,” she added.

"During the past six years, I have had the pleasure of being involved in making Havok a unique success story in the games industry. Havok is committed to building on our position as the leading provider of games middleware technology. We will continue to invest in innovation to deliver cutting edge solutions to the world’s leading games and entertainment companies,” said Coghlan.

“I look forward to leading Havok through the next stage in its growth and I am excited by the opportunity to expand the reach of the Havok product line into new gaming genres, new hardware platforms, emerging geographic markets and adjacent industries.”
