International game creation event just days away

India and Russia join Global Game Jam

India and Russia are the newest two nations to host events for the upcoming Global Game Jam event.

That brings up the event’s number of participating nations to a total of 38.

The Global Game Jam sees hundreds of professional, amateur and aspiring game designers join together in various locations around the globe to develop a game in the space of a weekend. It is intended to be a fun, frenzied learning experience.

“We are just 3 days away from January 29th in New Zealand, where the Global Game Jam will begin, so it’s getting down to the wire to participate,” said Susan Gold, founder of the Global Game Jam.

Last year’s event saw some 1,750 game developers team up in over 50 locations across 23 countries, with organisers looking to expand the event further this time round.

The 2010 Global Game Jam is set to launch across the globe from January 29-31.
