Ubisoft's Jade Raymond, Naughty Dog's Amy Hennig and 343 Industries' Kiki Wolfkill named in list

Leading developers listed in Fortune’s 10 Most Powerful Women in Games

Fortune has compiled a list of the ten most powerful women in games, and several are involved in development.

Perhaps the most notable were: Ubisoft Toronto’s managing director Jade Raymond; Amy Hennig, creative director at The Last of Us maker Naughty Dog; 343 Industries/Microsoft’s Kiki Wolfkill, executive producer for Halo 4; and SVP of Maxis Lucy Bradshaw.

Also on the list is King CFO Hope Cohran, IndieCADE CEO Stephanie Barish, Kabam’s co-founder and chief of staff Holly Liu, Kongregate co-founder and CEO Emily Greer, MD of the Casual Games Association Jessica Tams, and IGDA executive director Kate Edwards.

Studies by M2 Research shows that women currently make up less than 15 per cent of the global games industry, whereas Newzoo research reveals that 46 per cent of players – 570 million people – are female.

M2 founder Wanda Meloni said: "Aside from getting more women to view games as a positive career option for them, we need to support them in all areas of production, design and development. Additionally, we need to work on pay equity and more positive mentoring activities."
