Riot Games title accrues an extra two million concurrent players in just five months

League of Legends peaking at 5m concurrent users

Fantasy eSports title League of Legends is regularly exceeding more than five million players at once globally.

The milestone means that in just five months, the Riot Games-developed title has accrued an extra two million concurrent users, making it one of the most played games in the world.

In October last year, Riot Games revealed that League of Legends had amassed 12 million daily active users, more than Instagram and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 combined.

The title also reported a monthly active userbase of 32 million players, dwarfing the number of players for games such as World of Warcraft, which peaked at around 12 million subscribers.

Riot Games also claimed that the game was clocking up one billion hours of gameplay a month.
