Leaked Red Dead Redemption 2 info points to a battle royale mode

Information obtained by Trusted Reviews gives new insight into this year’s most anticipated game, Red Dead Redemption 2. The info hasn’t been verified by Rockstar or 2K, but Trusted Reviews feels confident since seeing certain aspects of the leaks validated by promotional material released for the game. Images depicting protagonist Arthur Morgan and another important character (and Red Dead Redemption baddy) Dutch van der Linde bear a striking resemblance to official media.

With that in mind, the big takeaways from this document include the inclusion of a battle royale mode as part of the game’s online offerings. It’s unclear whether this will be in the same vein as PlayerUnknown’s and Fortnite’s popular versions of the format, but given Rockstar’s savvy performance with Grand Theft Auto V’s online modes, it feels like the sort of thing the company would do.

GTA Online continues to make a stunning amount of money for 2K (and may have something to do with the fact that there’s not even been a sniff of a GTA VI), so expectations have always been that a strong multiplayer service would be offered. Other modes included in the document include ‘revive and survive’ and ‘money grab’.

A first-person mode is also implied to be available in the game, which would come as no surprise as it was a popular addition to GTA V when the game launched on PC.
