Lloyd on board for Back to the Future

Sam & Max developer Telltale Games has recruited Christopher Lloyd – the man who played the iconic Doc Brown in the Back to the Future films – to lend his voice for its series of episodic games based on the franchise.

USA Today reports that original screenplay writer Bob Gale is also on board for the project, which will be released in five episodes across a number of formats including Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

Little is known of the storyline, though Telltale has confirmed the reappearance of the DeLorean time machine and Marty’s hometown of Hill Valley.

Telltale Games has always set out to be a great storytelling company. We’ve been honing our chops over the past six years, and we’re ready to take on these two iconic properties and continue to advance storytelling in games,” CEO Dan Connors said of the games in June.

The games are going to exist within these worlds. I wouldn’t call these games sequels per se but a new interpretation of their worlds for a new medium. For one generation, it’s an introduction to these series. For another generation, it’s a thing they can look back on and something they can share warmly with their family and friends.”
