EA to live stream industry event

Maxis game announcement ‘set for GDC’

Maxis is set to make announce a new game at the Game Developers Conference next month, according to an EA PR.

Speaking on Twitter, EA’s senior director of public relations Erik Reynolds claimed that The Sims developer was to issue an announcement at the event, likely the reveal of a new game.

Publisher Electronic Arts will also be live streaming the event online.

At last year’s GDC event, EA revealed its partnership with free-to-play giant Bigpoint to distribute certain titles on its Play4Free online platform, as well as announcing the stepping down of EA Partners head David DeMartini, who was replaced by EA Game’s COO Brian Neider.

The publishing giant also showcased games such as Battlefield 3 and Crysis 2.
